Laurent Henrion

Belgian photographer Laurent Henrion was born in 1992 and graduated from the "IATA" and "ESA Saint-Luc Liège" in Belgium. He is the winner of the 19th edition of the "Prix Picto" for young fashion photography from 2016.

Laurent Henrion is interested in art since his youth. He especially likes portraits of women and loves to draw as a child. At the beginning of his youth he takes courses at a drawing school. At age 16, he gradually drops drawing to devote himself to photography. She gives him the opportunity to "try everything a little without ever getting bored." He chooses the "photography" section in his secondary school and initially specializes in the portrait.

Although the portrait has long been a priority area, today Laurent Henrion offers us a work that is rich and varied. He describes himself as "alive skinned, a hypersensitive". The artist communicates his doubts, his fears and his dreams through his pictures. His work moves on the axis of the confrontation between Eros and Love in all its forms, and Thanatos, the incarnation of death. Once it is dark and disturbing and at other times naive and dreamy. His world is influenced by fashion photography as well as romantic painting, abstract art, sculpture and Japanese printing.
